Caldeirinhas

Also known as Caldeira do Inferno (hell's boiler), this caldera is composed of two volcanic craters filled with seawater and forming an eight. It is a site of high biological interest since it shelters several endemic species, such as heather (Erica azorica) and faya tree (Morella faya). It is also the cozy breeding site of marine fauna species, namely the goldline (Sarpa salpa) and the Ballan wrasse (Labrus bergylta).
