Espalamaca

This promontory over the city of Horta and the beach of Almoxarife is a privileged spot to observe the port and the marina of Horta, which is internationally renowned by yachtsmen crossing the Atlantic. Here one has the real feeling of being in the middle of an archipelago, as one can simultaneously see, apart from Faial, the islands of Pico, São Jorge and Graciosa. The statue of Our Lady of Conception, 30 m tall, magnifies this pilgrimage place.
