Monte da Guia

Duration: 1,50 hours, Length: 1,8Km, Difficulty level: Easy

Departure: Casa do Parque Natural (Monte da Guia)

Arrival: Old Whaling Station

In 1980, the Monte da Guia was the first marine area to be subject to regulation. It is then classified as a Protected Area. It is also protected by Natura 2000 Network as a Special Conservation Zone.

If you decide to make this course during spring or summer, from here you can observe a few species of marine avifauna, as the Cory`s Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea borealis) whose song is easily recognized during the night, and the Common Tern (Sterna hirundo), as it is at these seasons that these birds migrate to the Azores Archipelago to nest.

To recover your energies and enjoy a wonderful view of the Porto Pim Bay, visit the terrace bar at the beach.
